Chang Somchai Kamrak

With a distinct and memorable artistic style, Chang Somchai Kamrak is famous in Thailand

for his 'performance art' fused with 'Happening Art'.

For these events he instigated and facilitated community art projects which engaged the general public

with different forms of art and performance to create 'freestyle community art'.

Thai "happenings": political, hospital fundraiser, fun for the children, musical and performance.

Chang has resided in the Northern Rivers for the past 18 years and now calls this inspiring place home.

He continues to create community art happenings

such as the Caring is Sharing

CHANG: The Art of Soul

21ST MAY 2010: solo exhibition opening from 6pm

at the Serpentine Community Gallery.

All welcome for food, music and

local art appreciation.

'My art tells a story, not one story but many stories.

People listen to music but there are no words

- this is my art!

All people will have different experiences

when coming into contact with my art.

Also my art is medicine.

People generally feel things in real life

that they are not happy about.

My pictures are medicine and are good for the soul,

if you have a headache,

a broken heart,

or a confused soul

then my pictures will be your medicine.

You don't need a doctor, just experience the

Art of Soul.'

Exhibition on view from 21st May until 1st June 2010.
