Max Kaos - My Paper Trail auction

24th AUGUST 2008: One day event, Max Kaos'

"My Paper Trail" auction on Sunday, from 4-8pm.

The art of Max Kaos is threaded with words and poetry,

but she reckons she's primarily a cartoonist.

Max is having a one day only auction of her art

(“my paper trail” as she calls it) to launch her first colour zine.

“I write a journal and

when I come to a new part of my life or have just finished a mission, I collate those diary pages into a magazine,”

Max said.

“I give out these zines

at things that we the community put on –

like DIY festivals or the swap meets we have at the Little Keen Street community garden.

I have only recently felt comfortable and proud of the simplicity of my pictures;

little people that embody some of the beauty, hurt, craziness, love, questions

and riddles of the world.”

The auction is at Serpentine Gallery in North Lismore this Sunday, August 24, from 4-8pm.

There will be butlers, fine wine and hors d’oeuvres.

And Max says: "wear your Sunday best, whatever that means to you!”
