26th NOVEMBER 2010: the Serpentine is the venue for

a one-night-only event called MEMORY

on Friday from 7pm.

Queensland based arts collective Synaptic Graffiti

celebrate the release of their second production

Memory: Video Poetry DVD

 with this screening event for a work reflecting

 the composite nature of our memories.

Formed by poet Sara Moss and her partner, digital artist/musician Scart (also of Australian Rock Band The Molotov), the Synaptic Graffiti collective blends poetry with music and other art forms for DVD/CD/WEB productions

and live performances.

Memory is a diverse and inspiring anthology of poetry videos by Australian and international artists

featuring 14 unique poetry films,

each exploring the theme in a different way.

Above is a still from Returning - for which Moss recently

won the Queensland Poetry Festival Filmmaker’s Award -

one of four Moss/Scart works on the anthology.

There is also a new work, Downriver, from Lismore-based poetry filmmaker Stefanie Petrik, whose earlier work Conscience Strike, featuring the poetry of Daevid Allen, screened at the renowned Portobello film festival in 2006.

 The night will also feature musical performances

by Trypswytch and assorted friends.

Other members of the collective include Australian poets Magdalena Ball; Alana Hicks; Jayne Fenton Keane; Chris Mansell; Deb Matthews-Zott and Komninos Zervos as well as independent Indian filmmaker Sharmy Pandey,  writer/director credited for many film and television productions.
