Kerrie Divett and Corinne Batt-Rawden - Modus Vivendi
4th November 2011: Exhibition opening on Friday at 7pm.
Serpentine Community Gallery presents solo artists
Kerrie Divett and Corinne Batt-Rawden
in a joint exhibition entitled
Modus Vivendi.
An agreement between conflicting parties
thus coexisting peacefully
and creating a mode of living.
Modus Vivendi:
n.pl. A manner of living; a way of life.
n. A manner of living that reflects the person's values and attitudes.
'Contemplating Treatment'
Kerrie's work utilizes various mediums
to explore her relationship to the language
that surrounds a diagnosis of breast cancer.
These works are a commentary on
her personal, emotional, physical and social relationships as she defines her mode of living.
'Cellular Storm'
Corinne's artistic expressions
investigate the inner conflict of being,
and her relationship to self
and her environment
through expressions, textures,
and observations through
print, painting and clay.
'Sleeping With Tamoxafin'
Opening night will also give Lismore's music-lovers
the chance to see Sydney queer punk outfit
supported by newly moved to the Northern Rivers
Toecutter,
a solo electronic music/stand-up comedy act,
plus local band
Lismore Rudimentary Peni Research
and Development Institute.
Light refreshments available.
So slip into your art appreciation state of mind,
pull on your stomping boots and drop by the Serpentine Community Gallery for the opening of
Modus Vivendi.
