On the day
Donated artworks fill the Pop-Up Gallery @ 56 Magellan Street Lismore ready for
our Art Auction fundraiser held on Mothers' Day 2012.
Prior to the auction: The day's auctioneer Michael Godbold and local art-lovers get to
know the artworks, while Serpentine members set up for the event,
and Art in the Heart's Stephen Nelson talks with
Lismore Mayor Jenny Dowell about the Pop-Up Gallery renovations and future plans.
Mayor Jenny Dowell officially opens the auction, Serpentine gallery Manager Corinne Batt-Rawden
welcomes all, and thanks donating artists, those present and our sponsors.
Jenny receives a thank-you gift of flowers.
Listening to the speeches: Serpentine committee member Celestine Fedley, wearing an artwork we didn't auction! (Cel also holds the artwork being auctioned below left); the day's musician Bec Newman with guitar and friends; and the man behind the Pop-Up Gallery space, Stephen Nelson in photographer mode.
Auctioneer Michael Godbold in action as he takes bids on Wera Teves 'Perfect Pair';
with Corinne Batt-Rawden displaying the piece, artist Jennifer Harnett tells auction goers about
one of the artworks she donated; Edda Lampis keeps the teas, coffees and delicious cakes coming.
The Art of Food: delectable
cupcakes by Corinne Batt-Rawden.
Dusk settles over Magellan St as
the Art Auction crew call it a day.
Many, many thanks to our very generous
Northern Rivers' artists and
and also to the hardworking organisers and 'helpers'
who made the day.
We at the Serpentine greatly appreciate the ongoing support
received from all sectors of our community.
