Poetry by local poet Wera Teves.
Fire performance by Vivian & Lea from the SCU Fire Club. Dance with Jim Hobbs and the Rainbow Tribe.
'MC'ing by Lismore’s unratified Town Crier Katrina Alexander.
  And Anthony Smith, from Icehouse and the Flowers,
will be playing tunes from his upcoming solo album
ranging from piano pieces to electronica.

The Serpentine's 10th Birthday Celebration
"Decadence" opening: An exuberant crowd of art-lovers dropped by the gallery to enjoy the art and help celebrate the Serpentine's 10th birthday
The Serpentine Community Gallery was honoured to have its 10th birthday celebration
 commence with a Smoking and Welcome to Country ceremony given by
 Nimbin-based Bundjalung artist Gilbert Laurie, of the Yaegl and Widjabul peoples.

Opening night goers took time to appreciate all the art forms on display, be they visual or performance.
Vivian and Lea from the SCU Fire Club bedazzled with their fire manipulation skills.
A recital by poet Wera Teves drew the audience's attention
Jim Hobbs and the Rainbow Tribe posed for a pic following
their dance tribute to Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights (below)
After a much appreciated solo performance, musician
Anthony Smith, ex Icehouse & the Flowers, was joined by
Wera Teves and Gene Sayer for an impromptu jam session.
1st prize winner of the Best Dressed Award Vanessa, aka Butterfly, (centre) is pictured
enjoying the entertainment with friend Lauren (left) and the art with friend Kay (right).
She received a voucher entitling her to an hour massage donated by Elisa Brownhill of Mirific Massage.

And in 3rd place was local ray-of-sunshine artist/poet Ray Parry

Having served us well during our first 10 years, the
old Serpentine gallery sign (left) has been 'retired'.
Now, as we enter our second decade of community
service, a fresh new sign (right) created by
artist/gallery volunteer Ken Swan welcomes visitors
to the gallery. Many thanks to Ken who has also
done a wonderful job of re-vamping the gallery's voting/suggestion box (below).
