Natural Observations: Nicholson Family Art over 4 generations’ is a family group exhibition which draws inspiration from their deep connection, appreciation and protection of nature, especially the rainforest of Terania Creek. This exhibition brings together the generational works of great grandmother Irma Chelsworth, grandfather Hugh Nicholson through daughters Elke and Terri, to grandchildren Tahlo & MarcoTeak. Their art works complement each other, with the theme of nature connection evident in all: Irma Chelsworth's Terania quilt; Hugh’s botanical and landscape photography; Terri’s botanical ecoprinted and intricate burn art works; Elke’s stunning acrylic paintings; Tahlo’s hyper-realistic pencil drawings and MarcoTeak's burn art.
“I had a vision a while ago of my family members spanning different generations all exhibiting together. The common theme is not just being family, but being deep lovers and protectors of nature. It is lovely to see it come together” said Terri Nicholson.
