Warwick Wright – Looking Here and There
With Looking Here and There, Warwick Wright invites viewers on a journey through place, memory, and imagination. A long-time resident of the Northern Rivers, Wright’s work has long been inspired by the region’s rainforests, waterfalls, and dramatic coastlines. But after three extended trips through Europe, his practice took a turn toward visual diaries and collage — capturing not just the image of a place, but its emotional texture.
From the exotic corners of Europe to the familiar architectural language of his “Home Among the Gum Trees” series, Wright’s work fuses expressive colour, thoughtful composition, and a deep affection for balance and form. Each collage is a moment of both escape and return — a reflection on what it means to belong, to travel, and to see the world anew.
Wright says: “Come on a journey of the imagination that will take you near and far.”
